This training course is intended for individuals who either use abrasive wheels or are involved in overseeing their use in the workplace. It is designed to build awareness of the potential dangers and provide the knowledge needed to work with abrasive wheel equipment safely and in line with legal requirements.

What Will I Learn?

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

• Identify common hazards related to abrasive wheels and the correct safety measures to reduce risks.
• Understand employer and employee responsibilities regarding health and safety regulations.
• Spot damaged or unsafe equipment before it’s used.
• Apply safe practices when inspecting and operating abrasive wheel machinery.
• Recognise different types and features of abrasive wheels.
• Understand how to correctly read wheel markings.
• Know the correct procedures for handling and storing abrasive wheels.
• Select and use the right personal protective equipment (PPE).

The course combines practical demonstrations with interactive classroom-based learning.

Assessment 

Ongoing observation and participation during the course will be used to assess understanding.

Certification

Successful delegates will receive a certificate confirming their knowledge of abrasive wheels safety and best practice.
