Aim of  Confined Spaces Awareness Training

People are killed or seriously injured in the UK each year in confined spaces. These incidents occur across a wide range of industries, from those involving complicated machinery through to simple storage solutions. Health and safety training will enable employees working in confined spaces to get the job done safely.To provide necessary knowledge to managers, supervisors, engineers and all those with responsibility for controlling work in Confined Spaces and/or carrying out risk assessments prior to permitting entry into a Confined Space.

Objective of Confined Spaces Awareness Training

By the end of the course candidates will be aware of the following:

  • What is a confined space and what are the hazards
  • Legal Requirements
  • Risk Assessments and safe systems of work
  • Equipment required to enter a confined space
  • The purpose and use of gas detection equipment
  • The purpose and use of escape breathing apparatus
  • The use of ropes and safety harness
  • The purpose and use of tripods and man riding winches
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Examination, testing and maintenance of equipment
  • Ventilation and the avoidance of unsafe atmospheres
  • Communication and entry procedures

All delegates will receive a Confined Spaces Awareness Certificate valid for 3 years.
