This course is designed for whose work could foreseeably disturb the fabric of a building and expose them to asbestos or who supervise or influence the work.
It should also be given to those workers in the refurbishment, maintenance and allied trades where it is foreseeable that ACMs may become exposed during their work.
If you have no intention of removing asbestos but work on buildings built or refurbished before the year 2000, asbestos could be present. You will need awareness training so
you know how to avoid the risks.
The aim of this course is to give delegates an awareness to the dangers of Asbestos and the necessary control measures to deal with it.
Course Duration: 3 – 5 hours
On completion of the course, the delegate will have an understanding of the following:
• Introduction to asbestos and its uses
• Understanding of the health effects and emergency procedures
• Appreciation of the legislative requirements when working with asbestos
• Compliance with the control of Asbestos regulations, surveys, registers and removal
Assessment:
Classroom based training with a multiple-choice exam of 20 questions.
All delegates will receive an Asbestos Awareness certificate valid for 3 years.
