The SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) emphasises the importance of promoting health and safety to ensure effective supervision. Endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group (UKCG) as the standard training for supervisors on UKCG sites, it follows a structured programme to meet industry requirements.
Who should attend?
This is a two-day course designed for those who currently hold or are about to take on supervisory responsibilities. It provides essential knowledge on health, safety, welfare, and environmental issues, along with the legal duties supervisors must adhere to in their role.
What will I learn?
This course equips supervisors with the knowledge and skills to fulfil their responsibilities effectively, ensuring a safe workplace. Delegates will gain an understanding of industry challenges, health and safety laws, and their role in site management. They will learn to conduct risk assessments, deliver site inductions and toolbox talks, monitor activities, and take action when unsafe practices arise.
Assessment:
Assessment for this course includes a multiple-choice test at the end, along with active participation throughout the training.
Certification:
Successful delegates are awarded a CITB SSSTS certificate.
