What Will I Learn?
Upon completion of this course, delegates will be able to:
Understand key health and safety regulations and relevant Codes of Practice
Confidently operate a Cable Avoidance Tool (CAT) and Signal Generator (Genny)
Identify various types of underground services and how to detect them
Recognise services not traceable with standard equipment
Interpret utility drawings and service plans
Conduct accurate site surveys and sketches
Apply safe digging techniques and understand the use of permit systems
Training combines both theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on experience.
Assessment
Delegates are assessed through practical exercises and instructor observation. The course includes classroom instruction followed by a hands-on site simulation, where delegates will perform a survey and sketch underground services.
Certification
Successful participants will receive a certificate confirming their competency in locating and identifying underground utilities using CAT and Genny tools.
