Chainsaws are potentially dangerous machines which can cause fatal or major injuries if not used correctly. It is essential that anyone who uses a chainsaw at work should have received adequate training and be competent in using a chainsaw for the type of work that they are required to do.

In recent years (in forestry and arboriculture) direct contact with a chainsaw has caused 5 deaths and many serious injuries. These do not include the high numbers of other types of accident that occur during felling, pruning and other related work.

Who Should Attend Safe use of Chainsaw Training?

This course is intended for operatives who will use a chainsaw for basic chainsaw operations including pruning/ cutting overhanging branches. Cross cutting and stacking the above cut timber as well as fallen small diameter trees.

Safe use of Chainsaw Training Aim: 

Provide the candidates with the necessary knowledge and understanding in relation to identification of hazards associated with Chainsaws and the required control measures to develop a safe system of work.

All delegates will receive an Chainsaw Operators Awareness Certificate valid for 3 years
